I really liked the show as well. I was not too happy with the first "action" scene on the motorcycle after I found out that it was taking place in reality with some random "real" guy. What actual people do that?

But the rest was wonderful. And at the end, Jenny and I cheered when the "Grr, Arg" happened.

This is the first Joss show I'm watching as it airs. Well, after it airs, as I watch on Hulu, but same diff :)

The "Grr Argh" had me almost crying as well, but it brought laughter too. I'm wondering if the monster is going to change with more important episodes as it did with "Buffy" (Graduation Day, Once More, With Feeling, etc.).

But seeing Amy again gave me the same reaction. The cameras paused on her face longer than necessary, which made me think that it was a shout-out to all of the Joss fans who know that Amy, just like Eliza, was on one of his shows in a big way. So, seeing Faith and Fred together again. Felt so good!

Anyway. LOVED it. Want, need more. My friend and I have days where we talk of nothing but the genius of Joss....guess we have someting to talk about come Tuesday!!!

Like Tabz this is the first Joss series that I'll be watching as it airs on TV. The wait was almost unbearable over the past few months. However, I must say the excitement I felt as 9pm got closer and closer was quite the cool feeling!

I enjoyed the episode and see lots of potential for the directions the show could take. I'm afraid that so many viewers who know Joss' past work are going to expect miracles within the first couple of episodes and as we all know very well really good TV series usually take time to mature and 'hit their stride'. I just hope we get that opportunity with Dollhouse and that people don't try to expect too much too soon.

Looking forward to hearing what you and Kim have to say on the podcast.

Dang! I just realized my copy had the Grr Argh cut off!

But, yeah, I really liked it too. Best scenes for me were all the interior shots of the Dollhouse and the other Actives being . . . active-y. When I watch it again, I'm going to slow-mo everything and get a good look!

Weakest scene? The first scene. Her Faith-esque character seemed bland compared to the others. Maybe I was expecting more Faith. Maybe they wanted that part to be a contrast to the rest of the show.

But, considering the bad press, I was very happily surprised. It seems, once again, the entertainment media has its head up its collective behind. They really ought to pay more attention to the experts.

That would be us!
