Joss’d News: Horror Hacker asks “What Are Whedon and Goddard Building With Cabin in the Woods?”

Posted by Tabz On January - 27 - 2009 ADD COMMENTS

In a fun little article over at AMC’s Horror Hacker Blog writer Todd Brown asks what Whedon and Goddard are doing with Cabin in the Woods:

So who would be the face of the film? Would you believe the dead father from Six Feet Under (Richard Jenkins) and cabinet member from The West Wing (Bradley Whitford)? Was this a sign that Whedon and Goddard are staying away from the usual teen-horror cast? Or were they playing a bit of bait and switch, announcing supporting players first to keep people guessing about the leads? “It’s really just your basic typecasting,” said Goddard, “when you need two actors to run through the woods in low-cut nighties, you immediately think of Richard Jenkins and Bradley Whitford.” While nobody was quite sure where they were going with this, hardcore horror fans were certainly intrigued. Over at Bloody Disgusting commenter GreekThunder said, “This will, as everyone knows, be an excellent film as long as the studios keep out of it and let the two on their own.”

I’m really rather excited about all this and can’t wait for “Cabin in the Woods.” To read the rest of this article visit: http://blogs.amctv.com/horror-hacker/2009/01/joss-whedon-cabin-in-the-woods.php

Streamy Awards
If you have not yet watched the Guild like we keep telling you to, please go do so now. And while you marvel at the awesomeness that is Felicia Day and the cast/crew of this fantastic webseries go over and nominate them that the Streamy Awards.

What are the Streamy Awards? They are not for who fogs up the mirror the most, but rather a kind of Oscars for Web Television. Accord to the Streamy Awards website it’s hosted by “a consortium of leading new media companies — Tilzy.TV, Tubefilter, and NewTeeVee — to recognize outstanding achievement for shows produced originally for broadband distribution.”

Given the great production, writing and acting values of the Guild they sure do deserve at least your nomination – if not an award as well.

Felicia and the Guild have asked for your help in getting them nominated. For that entry please visit the Guild’s website.
